We live in a small village near the Lincolnshire, Nottinghamshire and Leicestershire border and close to the A1, A46 & A17.
In 2005 we took our first steps into alpaca farming. We, like many farmers, were looking for something to diversify into – something that both ourselves and our children would find interesting and enjoy and we have really found that.
On the first day of the school holidays, 4 beautiful huacaya alpaca females, Mississippi Moonlight, Luminaria, Coco Chanel and Skylark were delivered, one each. The JandJ Alpaca herd was born using the children’s initials (James & Jessica).
Alpacas are addictive and within a year we decided to specialise in coloured alpacas and bought 8 black pregnant females.
We now have over 90 beautiful alpacas, all colours, all ages ranging from Luminaria, our female herd leader at nearly 20 years old, to our cria who are under a year old.
Our coffee shop serves yummy breakfast, coffee & cake. Walk our Alpaca Trail, no booking required, £5 for adults, £2 for Children & under 3’s are FREE. We have our unique range of alpaca knitwear displayed in our shop. Come & meet our herd!!
